The STEPS process (System to Enhance Productivity and Service) is a complete reengineering of the housekeeping department focusing on the room attendant job. It organizes the responsibilities of the room attendants into specific cleaning cycles that produce high level quality in the most efficient manner possible. At the same time looking at all areas in the department for inefficacies and opportunities.
The STEPS Cleaning Processes are designed to achieve consistent quality while customizing the guest services. This is done using an efficient and skilled workforce at sustainable levels of productivity.
PDQ offers several training options to our client. We customize the time on property to the needs of the hotel. Our PDQ Directors travel onsite to implement the process changes at the property. We train all levels inside the organization, from line-level staff through the GM. We spend time at the property to understand the layout, challenges, setup, and opportunities when implementing one of our programs. The training is led at the property by one or more of our highly qualified PDQ Directors who have all worked in Housekeeping for many years and in different properties prior to working for PDQ. Additionally, once they join PDQ, they go through extensive training not only for our processes, but for meeting facilitation and instruction. After the training has been completed, we remain in constant communication to ensure the hotel is being successful with the program. We facilitate conference calls and retraining as necessary. We partner with the properties to see successes sustained and ingrained into the culture of the department. Our training courses include:
Room Cleaning Training for various room types, statuses, and sizes
Servicing rooms based on the specific needs of each guest.
Specialized ergonomic techniques for bed making, bathroom cleaning, etc.
